My experience about Uttam Sir’s mentoring program.
I joined batch 2012, which commenced on 16th Oct.2012.
First of all I would say that this program was a Blessing in Disguise for me. I was wandering here and there for the last 8-10 years like a directionless ship. I tried TA Softwares, numerous indicators, read loads of books, countless hours at trading forums, took tips too from Capitalvia, joined webinars, etc. and still could not make money. I had started feeling that TA doesn’t work at all. But when I came across Uttam Sir’s thread at Traderji.com, It blew my mind off! Any trader in the world, how experienced he may be, would have appreciated it and agreed that no thread at any forum could have matched the insights into PA. It created a new wave and so many people got new Trading Accounts opened just to trade commodities (esp. crude oil) based on Uttam Sir’s calls. Till now the thread is Numero Uno in commodities section.
I took the decision to join his mentorship. Now it has just been around 3.5 months, I feel I have learnt more than I did in last 8 years just because of right guidance, right direction and Sir’s dedication towards his commitments. I have been in markets for over 5 years and have seen many systems and methods but when it came to trading them I have never seen the success that was claimed with the method/system. Uttam Sir's KTW method is the one with which I have become consistent. He starts from basic and builds on top of each concept like a building block. I have been following markets since 2005 mainly for investing in Mutual funds (at that time to save tax). I was not into stock investing as it was more volatile than my fund portfolios. Investing based on TIPS from friends mostly failed and stock selection based fundamental analysis was not easy and till I opened my zerodha account in 2018 I didn't have exposure to technical analysis. I am a working professional having no time to trade during market hours. My plan was to start a business five years from now. I wanted to pursue stock market as a potential business opportunity. I have come across about Uttam sir on twitter. I found his tweets profound, encouraging and insightful. I was intrigued with his zero screen time programme. I approached him during August’22 and post reading UTA’s prospectus; I felt much confident and wanted to join as his mentee. I opted for MP03 programme.

I could tell you good Uttam Sir's Algo trading strategy is in terms of the ROI and Drawdown (which are both great obviously). But that's not the real reason why I trade this strategy. The real reason is Uttam Sir himself. He has two decades of experience in the market, and was one of the pioneers of Systematic Trading, long before we had seen weekly options and backtesting platforms.
Developing a good trading system is not as easy as backtesting random parameters and arriving at conclusions which may not be logically sound. Even if you have a Logical System, it needs to be packaged with a sound understanding of Statistics and Mathematics. In the algo market of Twitterverse, it is almost impossible to find someone offering such a sound system.
And even if someone is able to design a sound system, and you are lucky enough to find them, you will not be able to trade that system for long. Because designing or learning a good system is one thing. Being able to go through the psychological ups and downs which even the best take you through is another thing. And psychology cannot be learnt or developed in a 2 day workshop or a one-way webinar.
That is why Uttam Sir has taken the unique approach of offering even his completely automated trading algorithm as a 6 month course. Because trading psychology cannot be built in a day or two. He is a mentor in the true sense of the word. I finished my course almost 1.5 years ago and I still talk to him on the phone every few weeks, sometimes for hours together.
